Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons: Everything Roberto De Zerbi said as Tottenham suffer double injury blow
Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons picking up injuries against Wolves is the last thing Tottenham Hotspur needed in the end-of-season run-in.
The 28-year-old striker, who has missed much of Spurs' 2025-26 campaign, lasted just 40 minutes before being replaced by Richarlison, and it didn't look good at all for the England international.
Simons followed the centre-forward down the tunnel, this time on a stretcher, being replaced by Lucas Bergvall just after the hour mark, with the Lilywhites' fears only relieved by three points on Saturday, 25 April.
Tottenham are still plagued by injuries, with James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski yet to return to the pitch, despite the former being on the bench. Now, two of the biggest stars are likely to be unavailable.

Joao Palhinha came on in the 62nd minute, and 20 minutes later, the midfielder had netted the eventual winner to ensure Spurs remained two points behind West Ham in the Premier League table.
Despite the result, there was still a huge dampener on the day, with De Zerbi sharing whatever he could about the setbacks suffered by Simons and Solanke after the game.
In his post-match press conference, he said: "For Solanke, it's a muscle injury. I don't know what level of injury, and for Xavi, it's a problem with his knee. We will see in the next days, Monday or Tuesday.
"For Solanke, it's not a big problem. I don't know how many games we'll lose him for. I would like to know the situation of Xavi because the knee is always different to a muscle injury.
"He felt pain. He's better now. I spoke with him two minutes ago, and he feels better than he did at the beginning of his injury."

Concerns have already been raised over Solanke's future due to the injury problems since his arrival in North London, and the striker may now be ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Football Insider understands that Tottenham are facing interest from Newcastle United, and they could be tempted to cash in based on the player's continuous issues off the pitch.
Simons is now facing a similar situation, having been stretchered off the pitch against Wolves, but concerning his future, the attacking midfielder is unlikely to stay if Spurs get relegated.
Bayern Munich are eyeing a cheap deal for Simons should that eventuality play out this season, so it could already be the last time that Tottenham fans see him in white.
