Mohammed Kudus faces Tottenham axe as his in-depth stats emerge
Spurs were once again poor as they made it a run of four games without a win in all competitions.
Plenty of Roberto De Zerbi’s men were ineffective in Merseyside, with Mathys Tel receiving plenty of backlash for his performance from supporters.
However, a player who had an equally disappointing game was Mohammed Kudus.
The 26-year-old made his first start of the campaign after returning from injury, but was unable to do anything of note.
As a result, it has become clear that the Ghana international is not ready to start matches for Spurs at the moment.
How bad was Mohammed Kudus vs Liverpool?
Kudus was simply awful on Tuesday in the match against Liverpool.
The winger was ineffective and prone to losing the ball when in possession.
According to Fotmob on 16 September, he had three shots, with only one going on target, had a 0.58xG, missed one big chance, created zero chances, had a 0.02 xA, completed 75 per cent of his passes, completed one out of his four attempted dribbles, and made one accurate cross out of four attempted.
These stats are simply unacceptable, with Kudus doing nothing positive in the attacking areas of the pitch.
Therefore, it is clear that he is still not ready to be starting matches, and De Zerbi must continue to use him as an impact substitute for the time being.
Did Tottenham deserve to lose to Liverpool?
Overall, Tottenham were incredibly unlucky not to beat Liverpool on Tuesday when examining the stats.
Spurs had 56 per cent possession, 17 shots, six of which were on target, 27 touches in the opposition box, three big chances and a 2.34 xG.
In comparison, Liverpool had 44 per cent possession, 12 shots, five of which were on target, 22 touches in the opposition box, two big chances and a 1.53 xG.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Spurs can now take the positives from this display and go on to get their first Premier League victory of the campaign against Aston Villa on the weekend.
