Rafael Leao could be on his way to Tottenham this summer as a top UK bookmaker slashes his odds to leave AC Milan for North London.

Leao has always looked set to become one of the world's best wingers, but could need a move away from AC Milan to fulfil his potential.

He will be 27-years-old by the start of next season, and several top journalists have claimed that he is seeking a new challenge this summer.

Man United have reportedly registered their interest in his services, while Newcastle have been linked to Leao too in the last few months.

Tottenham are now thought to be lining up a move for the Portugal winger, and are the new bookies' favourites to sign him if he does leave the Italian capital.

His future looks set to be sorted out in the coming weeks after Portugal were knocked out of the World Cup by Spain on Monday.

Leao registered 10 goals and three assists in 31 appearances for Milan last season, following a campaign in which he notched 12 goals and 11 assists in 51 games.

He scored against Uzbekistan in the World Cup group stage and then set Goncalo Ramos up with a fine cross for their winner against Croatia in the round of 32.

Leao is expected to leave Milan with two years left on his contract, and Tottenham have been installed as the 6/4 favourites to be his next club after the end of the summer window.

Any Saudi Arabian team has been backed to sign him, at odds of 2/1, while Man United are also in the running at 3/1.

Galatasaray (4/1), Barcelona (9/2) and Arsenal (6/1) are also near the top of the market as it stands.

AC Milan ready to sanction 'cut-price' Rafael Leao deal as Man United line up signing

What has Leao said about leaving AC Milan?

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Milan are willing to sell Leao for a cut-price fee as several clubs line up a move for his services.

He is clearly keen to leave the club this summer in search of a new challenge, considering what he has told reporters following the end of last term.

Leao indicated that he would like to move to England last month, saying: “I need a new challenge. I already won two trophies in Italy and have been there for a while. The League is evolving, but for my style of football, I think the Premier League or La Liga would make more of my talent, as a player.

"If a Premier League opportunity were to come along, I would be very happy. I think that I can put my talent up against the players there, who are of a very high level. Playing in that kind of a league really gets the best out of a player.”
