'Roberto De Zerbi and Tottenham at odds over Luka Vuskovic deal, from what I've heard'

Luka Vuskovic could be allowed to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan after the club rejected multiple permanent offers from Brighton.

The 19-year-old has been the subject of two offers from Brighton, the latest of which was worth £35million, but Spurs have moved quickly to reject both offers.

Fabian Hurzeler is keen to land the Croatia international, who featured in his country's 4-2 defeat against England, but the finances involved could be problematic.

Instead, former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Tottenham could be prepared to let Vuskovic leave the club on another short-term deal.

Having spent last season on loan with Bundesliga outfit Hamburg, there is a belief that he will struggle to break into Roberto De Zerbi's side, but there are high hopes of his future.

Spurs are now reluctant to lose him permanently unless they can land a huge fee, but would be more open to another loan move.

Could Luka Vuskovic leave Tottenham on loan?

Brown told Football Insider on 16 June that Tottenham are preapred to let Vuskovic leave the club as De Zerbi does not see him as part of his first-team plans.

However, those higher up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium see him as a potential star for the future and are reluctant to lose him at this early stage.

A loan move may be a more reasonable compromise for Spurs, but whether Brighton would be prepared to back away from a permanent deal is unlikely.

"It looks like De Zerbi is happy to let Vuskovic leave this summer," Brown told Football Insider.

"But Tottenham don't necessarily think the same, they brought him in as a young player who could develop and then become key for them long-term, rather than immediately.

"So he's still very highly thought of, he was impressive on loan at Hamburg last year, and from what I've heard, they would have been open to letting him go on loan again.

"It doesn't look like it will happen after they've made a permanent bid, but a loan move to Brighton would have been perfect for his development.

"That would've been ideal for Tottenham, he would gain Premier League experience and then maybe come into the team next season, but it'll be difficult with a permanent bid on the table.

"If somebody else comes in with a loan offer, I'm sure it's something they would still be open to."

What is Brighton's updated stance on signing Vuskovic?

Brighton have made their intentions clear in their pursuit of Vuskovic, with multiple big offers designed to lure him away amid growing doubts over his Spurs future.

While the finances have made a deal difficult to do so far, they are still keen to reach an agreement, with the centre-back emerging as their top target.

Football Insider revealed on 16 June that Brighton are not willing to pay Tottenham's £60m asking price for Vuskovic, but are hopeful of reaching a compromise on the fee.

The North London outfit ideally want to keep the 19-year-old starlet, but it is understood that Brighton are offering him a quicker pathway to regular first-team football.

Any deal will need to see a reduction in his transfer fee, otherwise it is at risk of falling through, but negotiations are ongoing behind the scenes.
