Savinho, Cody Gakpo, Pedro Neto, Omar Marmoush: Where Tottenham's targets rank on their shortlist
Tottenham Hotspur are prioritising a deal for Savinho as they aim to strengthen out wide, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old has emerged as the top attacking target for Roberto De Zerbi, despite ongoing pursuits of a number of other wide forwards in the window's closing stages.
Man City are open to selling the Brazil international for the right price, and a full agreement is now edging closer, with the winger also believed to be keen on the move.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Savinho ranks ahead of other targets including Cody Gakpo and Pedro Neto on Spurs' shortlist.
Instead, Tottenham are continuing to push towards an agreement with Man City which could finally see Savinho make the switch to North London before the deadline.
Will Tottenham sign Savinho this summer?
Football Insider revealed on 18 August that Tottenham "fully expect" Savinho to arrive before the transfer deadline and have been working on the deal all summer.
He is not set to be part of Enzo Maresca's plans for the coming seasons, and is keen to make the move, with a final fee now being negotiated.
While other attacking options are still being considered, and a second may arrive after the Brazilian, all focus at Spurs is currently on getting a deal over the line.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Pedro Neto is on Tottenham's list, maybe not at the top of it right now.
"Savinho is their number one target for that wide attacking position, he is the priority and they're working hard to reach an agreement with Man City over that one.
"Cody Gakpo is high on that list as well, and both of those players are probably ahead of Pedro Neto in the pecking order for Spurs.
"Savinho is the one they're really pushing to get done, and they're keen on Gakpo too, so that's where they stand at the moment."
What is the latest on Tottenham's pursuit of Cody Gakpo?
Alongside Savinho, Tottenham have been working on a deal to sign Gakpo from Liverpool after he emerged as one of their leading targets to strengthen up front.
His ability to play both as a striker and a winger have placed him high on Spurs' radar, and while Savinho is the priority, they could still pursue the Netherlands international.
However, Football Insider revealed on 16 August that Liverpool have no plans to let Gakpo join Tottenham and still vue him as a key part of their starting XI.
Andoni Iraola does not want to lose Gakpo this summer, even though the Reds are keen on signing a new first-choice left winger, as he aims to add depth to his squad.
Concerns have been raised about a lack of depth at Anfield, and they are reluctant to worsen the problem by allowing an important player to leave.
