Tottenham are now the clear favourite with top UK bookmakers to sign Monaco and USA striker Folarin Balogun.

Balogun emerged as one of the stars of the World Cup as he bagged three goals in four games for the co-hosts in their run to the last 16.

His rescinded red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina also made headlines after Donald Trump seemed to convince Gianni Infantino to bend the tournament rules in the USA's favour.

The 25-year-old capped off a fine campaign with his exploits on the world stage, after scoring 19 goals in 43 games for Monaco in 2025-26.

He has attracted interest from across Europe as a result of his standout showings, with Spurs being the latest Premier League club to be linked with a move.

The Sun have claimed that Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign Balogun, with a switch now seeming likely as their odds are slashed with several bookmakers.

Tottenham have odds slashed to 7/4 to sign Folarin Balogun

Balogun was born in the USA but raised in London, and he made his way through Arsenal's academy as a youngster before featuring 10 times for their first team.

He shone in a loan spell with Ligue 1 side Reims in 2022-23, thus moving to Monaco for an initial £25.7m ahead of the following campaign.

Balogun's stock has continued to rise over the last three years, with 31 strikes in 91 appearances for the principality club so far.

He has been targeted by several Premier League clubs over the last few months, but Spurs now look to be leading the race as Roberto De Zerbi eyes a new striker addition.

Two of the UK's top bookmakers have slashed Spurs' odds to be Balogun's next club to 7/4, meaning they are now the favourites to complete a deal with Monaco.

Which other clubs are keen on signing Balogun?

Borussia Dortmund are the current second-favourites to sign the 25-year-old, at odds of 5/2, while Chelsea come in at 10/3.

Sources have previously revealed to Football Insider that Everton and Crystal Palace are interested in Balogun as they each look to sign a new centre-forward this summer.

Talk of either club making a move for his services has slowed down since the end of the World Cup, though, meaning Spurs may well be in pole position to strike a deal.
