Pedro Porro could soon be on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur rather than becoming a key star under Roberto De Zerbi.

The 26-year-old full-back has quickly become one of the most experienced members of the squad at Hotspur Way, but it was really a season to forget for him.

Much like the rest of the squad, Porro went through a huge rough patch, which makes the fact that he ended the campaign on two goals and five assists all the more impressive.

Spurs will have a newfound confidence of keeping the majority of their star players after surviving the fiercely fought relegation battle, but there could yet be some transfer casualties this summer.

Porro is no stranger to transfer interest, with both Real Madrid and Manchester City linked with a move for the talented full-back ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Whether supporters know it or not, the player has a deep history with fellow Premier League side Man City, and that could play a huge role in his next steps.

Pedro Porro could choose Man City switch

Porro first signed for the Citizens in the summer of 2019 on an £11million deal before being sent straight out on loan to Real Valladolid.

Although the deal included a buy option, he returned to England before being sent out on loan again, this time to Portguese giants Sporting CP, where he began to make a name for himself.

Following a successful two years in Portugal, the move was made permanent, and the rest, they say, is history. Or is it?

The full-back's failed move to Man City is bound to play on his mind, even after all these years, with brand-new transfer interest likely to revive some old feelings.

Porro could very well feel he has something to prove at the Etihad Stadium, having never actually made a first-team appearance for the club that he joined as a 19-year-old.

Tottenham may already be prepared for Porro's exit

There is no doubt that Porro is one of the most creative minds in the Spurs squad, so it won't be easy to find a replacement on the right flank.

However, new reports have revealed the Lilywhites' interest in Anan Khalaili, amongst a handful of other Premier League clubs, and he could be the perfect successor.

The 21-year-old, who can play anywhere along the right-hand side, notched six goals and six assists in 52 games for Union St Gilloise in 2025-26, while also racking up some impressive defensive displays.

He could be exactly what De Zerbi needs ahead of the next campaign, especially if this is to be Porro's last in a Tottenham shirt.
