Tottenham: Luka Vuskovic being pushed towards the exit door by Roberto De Zerbi
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi looks to be forcing Luka Vuskovic out of the club this summer.
The 19-year-old is one of the brightest young talents at Spurs, and had a successful loan spell in the Bundesliga with Hamburg this season.
That has increased interest in Vuskovic from across Europe, whilst the Croatian will be representing his country at this summer's World Cup in North America.
De Zerbi could be making a costly mistake allowing Vuskovic to leave Spurs in favour of signing new defenders.
Spurs do need to strengthen defensively this summer, after the north London club only narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship this season, and Vuskovic deserves a chance to impress De Zerbi.
Roberto De Zerbi wants to reunite with Brighton star
In search of a new defender, Spurs have already had a bid rejected by Brighton for 25-year-old Jan Paul van Hecke.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Marcos Senesi looks set to join Spurs from Bournemouth on a free transfer.
Neither player will be moving to Spurs to sit on the bench, whilst De Zerbi already has Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven at his disposal.
It doesn't look like De Zerbi will be putting his trust in Vuskovic despite his strong stats in the Bundesliga, and his vast potential.
Vuskovic won over 67% of his ground and aerial duels, whilst he was strong in possession creating 11 chances from centre-back.
Luka Vuskovic could join Premier League rival
Sources previously told Football Insider that Liverpool were plotting a move to sign Vuskovic this summer.
Spurs should demand big money to agree to that deal as they would be strengthening a Premier League rival, and Liverpool are in need of a new centre-back.
De Zerbi can not afford to make many mistakes in this summer's transfer market as the fanbase will not tolerate another relegation battle.
The club's ownership already look to be backing De Zerbi, as highlighted by their bid for van Hecke, but the Italian must continue to make sure there is a pathway for young talent like Vuskovic.
