Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro would "seriously consider" the chance to join either Barcelona or Real Madrid, sources have told Football Insider.

The pair of La Liga giants have both got their eyes fixed firmly on the 27-year-old at the moment after he won the World Cup with Spain in the summer.

Porro is understood to be "flattered" by the interest from the duo, while the chance to move back to his homeland is understood to appeal to him.

Sources say that at this stage of his career, the defender is keen to play at the highest possible level and compete for honours, something he no longer feels is achievable with Spurs.

Roberto De Zerbi's side finally notched their win of the new Premier League campaign against Coventry on Monday night, but problems still remain in North London.

Porro only penned a new deal with the Lilywhites in the summer, but he has quickly lost faith in the project at the club.

Pedro Porro to jump at La Liga move

Porro is currently out injured at Tottenham, and hasn't featured for them in competitive action since 19 September.

However, after making 47 appearances in all competitions last term, his importance to the project in North London cannot be underestimated.

Porro is widely considered to be the outstanding player at Spurs, and the interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona is no surprise after his impressive World Cup campaign in the summer.

The duo's interest is just in the early stages at the moment, but Porro is expected to be hugely keen on a move if either of them come to the table with an offer.

He has been committed to Tottenham in recent years, but at 27, he feels that the time is now right for him to pursue his top ambitions in the game.

Real Madrid and Barcelona can both offer Champions League football, alongside the ability to compete for trophies on all fronts.

Tottenham 'instability' could see them lose 'best prospect since Harry Kane' - Insider

Tottenham could lose 'best prospect since Harry Kane'

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wynss recently told Football Insider that Tottenham should have genuine concerns about losing young midfielder Luca Williams-Barnett on a permanent basis.

The 18-year-old is still waiting for his Premier League debut, despite being widely regarded at Tottenham as their "best prospect since Harry Kane."

Wyness believes that the "instability" that the Lilywhites have endured in recent years has made it almost impossible for them to break elite starlets like Williams-Barnett into the fold.

With Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both keen on the youngster, Wyness believes that Spurs should be worried about losing him in the next 12 months.
