Tottenham idol fears uproar from fans after Antonio Conte reveal via Sky
Tottenham must back Antonio Conte in the transfer market amid reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Paul Robinson.
The former White Harte Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested there would be uproar from Spurs fans if Conte, 52, left because the club didn’t match his ambition.
Tottenham returned to winning ways on Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Leicester City.
The win comes at the end of a week dominated by speculation linking Conte with PSG, who are currently managed by Mauricio Pochettino.
However, as quoted by Sky Sports (29 April), Conte dismissed such reports as “fake news.”
The ex-Chelsea and Inter Milan manager has just over 12 months remaining on his contract in north London.

When asked for his assessment of Conte’s future, Robinson told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “Conte is always going to be wanted.
“He is one of the best managers in the world. They should have got him last summer after [Jose] Mourinho left. He is here now though and the last thing they can afford to do is let him go.
“The club regressed from the Champions League final until Conte came in. His appointment has been so significant.
“They have the manager the fans have been crying out for. The club has to back Conte this summer. It would not sit well with the fans if he leaves. They need to assure that he stays and to do that they need to back him in the transfer market.
“Conte is always going to be wanted. If Spurs are not competing then they will always be looking over their shoulders because top clubs will want Conte.
“They cannot afford to chop and change now. They have to give Conte the opportunity to do his job.”
