Tottenham idol issues emphatic Son Heung-min claim after 'amazing' footage emerges
Son Heung-min should take direct free-kicks for Tottenham next season instead of Harry Kane and Eric Dier, according to Paul Robinson.
The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, heaped praise on Son, 29, for the “amazing” technique he showed on international duty.
Son scored two free-kicks while playing for South Korea during the post-season international break.
As shown on ESPN (10 June), Son netted a sublimed free-kick in a 2-2 draw with Paraguay.
The winger is down the pecking order when it comes to direct free-kicks at club level.
Harry Kane and Eric Dier take the majority of shooting opportunities from dead ball scenarios for Spurs.

When asked by Football Insider if Son should be on direct free-kick duties next season, Robinson said: “Sonny obviously has an ability to score direct free-kicks.
“We have seen him do it twice in quick succession. The technique for free-kicks was amazing.
“It is hard to argue when Harry Kane his standing over the ball. He strikes the ball so well and is great at penalties. When you see Eric Dier and Ben Davies take them you do wonder why Son hasn’t been given more of a chance.
“I’d like to see him given a few at the start of next season.”
Son was one of the Premier League’s standout performers in the 2021-22 campaign.
He contributed 24 goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances.
