Tottenham insider: Bergwijn to be sold this week after exit 'sanctioned by Conte'
Tottenham will sanction the sale of Steven Bergwijn after he failed to make the matchday squad against Morecambe.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Bergwijn, 24, missed Sunday’s (9 January) 3-1 win over Morecambe in the FA Cup.
After the game, Fabrizio Romano claimed Ajax have already submitted an offer for the winger.
Wenham has admitted he doesn’t want to see the winger play for Spurs again.
“Bergwijn has had a chance under Conte,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“None of these players who could be sold can they haven’t had a chance, they have.
“There is talk about Ajax lodging a bid for him and I hope something happens there because I’m sure his departure has been sanctioned by Conte.
“I am sick him and other players not appreciating the opportunity they have at Tottenham.
“We are a big six side and we have unbelievable facilities. 40,000 fans showed up yesterday despite rising covid cases.
“These players don’t know what they have. Bergwijn had a decent performance against West Ham in the cup a few weeks ago but that’s it this season.
“He’s not been good enough and I hope we can wrap this transfer up in the next week.”
Bergwijn has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season.
He has chipped in with two goals and one assist.
