Wenham lambasts impostor Lo Celso as a 'passenger' who Conte won't suffer at Tottenham
Giovani Lo Celso has “everything to prove” under Antonio Conte after turning in his latest Tottenham “passenger” performance.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Lo Celso, 25, started and survived 73 minutes as Tottenham fells to a 3-0 defeat against Man United last Saturday before being omitted from Conte’s first starting XI in Thursday’s 3-2 win over Vitesse.
The Argentine came off the bench with three minutes remaining as a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Wenham insists Lo Celso is one player who has to prove himself under Conte as the new manager “won’t suffer fools”.
“One player I really want to talk about is Lo Celso,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He came in against Man United which was another baffling decision by Nuno.
“Ndombele had been playing better than he previously had. He decided very randomly to bring in Lo Celso.
“He was awful and did absolutely nothing. Poor set pieces, poor pass completion, he was an utter passenger.
“That is a word linked to him all the time. The Lo Celso that plays for Argentina always looks good.
“Tottenham are always short-changed by the one they see. I don’t know how he managed to score goals over in Spain.
“It was another poor performance from him. Under Conte, he has everything to prove to convince him he’s worth keeping around.
“Conte won’t suffer fools.”
