Tottenham insider: Conte has sights on Lucas replacement in January
Antonio Conte knows he needs a new number 10 in January after watching Lucas Moura during the Tottenham draw against Everton.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Moura, 29, has started in both of Conte’s first-team games and he scored in the 3-2 win over Vitesse.
However, he failed to create against Everton as Spurs failed to register a shot on target during the game.
The attacker has made 15 total appearances this season and scored two goals though he is yet to find the net in the league.
Wenham has been calling for Spurs to sign a new number 10 and claims Conte will have also realised Tottenham need a new creative outlet after watching Moura in his two games in charge.

“Conte has selected Lucas to start in both of his games,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“In both games he has started as an out and out number 10 and he didn’t really do it.
“There were complaints about the lack of creativity against Everton and that has to lie with the attackers.
“I have spoken many times before about Tottenham needing a new number 10.
“I think Conte, having watched Lucas, will have identified that area as somewhere to strengthen in January.“
Tottenham are ninth in the Premier League ahead of Conte’s third match in charge of the club next weekend.
Spurs welcome Leeds to North London on 21 November after the international break.
