Exclusive: Tottenham set for 'extraordinary' Harry Kane offer after England camp reveal

Tottenham will have to offer Harry Kane an “extraordinary” new contract trumping his England teammates to keep him, sources have told Football Insider.

The Londoners are still to open talks with their prize asset, 29, over an extension to his current agreement, which expires in the summer of 2024.

Spurs are keen to begin negotiations, but Kane has held back from doing so until after the World Cup.

The London giants recognise that crucial to the negotiations will be the terms of the deal on offer at a time when the market for England stars has never been so lucrative.

Kane is well aware, one well-placed source told us, that “inferior” England teammates are earning considerably more than his current agreement, worth around £200,000-a-week.

Raheem Sterling secured a £300,000-a-week deal when signing for Chelsea during the summer and Jack Grealish’s Man City deal is worth around £350,000-a-week.

The latest news emerging from the England camp is that Mason Mount has rejected a new Chelsea deal worth £200,000-a-week.

That puts Kane in a strong negotiating position with Tottenham going into the final 18 months of his deal.

Amid the key factors in his decision will be Antonio Conte’s plans as well as the club’s ambition to build on their impressive resurgence under the Italian.

The manager’s own contract is due to expire at the end of the season and Tottenham are working on extending his deal.

Kane and his representatives will closely monitor Conte’s own talks before deciding whether to commit to a deal that could effectively see him end his career at Tottenham.

The England star turns 30 in the summer of 2023 and that could be one of his last chances to secure a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
