Tottenham eye summer swoop for in-demand contract rebel - report

Tottenham have joined a whole host of top flight clubs monitoring the situation of Manchester United youngster Dean Henderson, according to a report.
The Mirror claim on their website that as many as up to 14 clubs are keeping tabs on the 20-year-old goalkeeper, who is set to see his contract at Old Trafford run out in May.
The report claims that the young shot stopper is considering his options, and his reluctance to sign a new deal with the Red Devils has seen clubs from England and abroad take an interest in securing his services.
Spurs will reportedly face a fight from the likes of London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea for Henderson, while there is said to be interest from the likes of Portuguese giants Benfica.
Currently on loan at League One Shrewsbury, where he has made 11 appearances to help the club make an unbeaten start in the third tier, he is yet to make an appearance for his parent club.

Henderson’s contract situation makes this a very interesting scenario for all clubs involved. United will be reluctant to see one of their brightest young talents depart for a nominal fee but if the youngster has made his mind up then there is very little that they can do. As for the clubs competing for his signature, they will have to prove that they are the best place for the shot stopper to develop his skills. As such, Tottenham might just have the advantage over their rivals, with Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm and Paulo Gazzaniga currently in the running for a place in the starting XI. While he is unlikely to usurp the French international as Mauricio Pochettino’s number one, Vorm’s contract is set to expire, and so Henderson could be his replacement. He might be given the opportunity to prove himself in the cup competitions, and working in a team with a strong English core could work to his advantage.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are looking to reignite their interest in a midfielder from these European giants.
