Tottenham midfielder reveals: Pochettino refuses to send me on loan

Harry Winks has revealed that Mauricio Pochettino has blocked attempts for clubs to take him on loan from Tottenham in recent years.
The Spurs midfielder has emerged as a regular member of the Tottenham matchday squad this season after being promoted from the youth ranks.
The 20-year-old made his league debut in August and scored in a thrilling 3-2 win over West Ham on his full debut.
Manager Pochettino has continued to show faith in the youngster, who has been associated with the north London club since he was five, and introduced him as a second-half substitute for Mousa Dembele in the landmark midweek win over Chelsea.
Winks explained that the White Hart Lane boss has been keen to keep a close eye on Winks since taking the reigns in the summer of 2014 and has batted off loan offers from other clubs.

““Since I have been in the first-team squad after the manager came here, he has made a point of not sending me out on loan,” said Winks, as quoted by the Telegraph. “He wants me here to train, he said he wants me to train and stay and play here. The fact that he wants me to do that is obviously a good sign for me and that he likes me.”
He added: “I have been here since I was five so there was never any chance of me going to another club. The manager gives young players the chance when he thinks it is right. I think he sees every player in the squad as a potential starter. Or we wouldn’t be here.”
Winks is in line to start for Spurs in their FA Cup third round clash against Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Pochettino has admitted he will make changes to the regular league team and will give opportunities to fringe players in his squad.
Winks has made 19 appearances for Spurs this season in all competitions, six of which have been starts.
