Tottenham must bin top flops and replace them with £70k-a-week powerhouse who has stunned rivals
While Tottenham’s transfer business has been a massive success over the recent years, there is one position in which they have failed to flourish.
The likes of Davinson Sanchez and Victor Wanyama can consider themselves to have lived up to, and even exceeded, the expectations placed on their shoulders, while the jury might still be out over Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura after joining from Paris St Germain.
However, there can be no question that the signings of Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente have been unmitigated failures, and they are lucky that Harry Kane has been in such imperious form – otherwise they may well have had to play more minutes up front.
The pair of attacking flops just have not managed to fit into the Spurs system of playing, and it is clear that their target man attributes do not make up for the lack of mobility they possess.
The duo need to be shipped out, and Pochettino could have a ready-made replacement available at his fingertips – if he is willing to splash the cash.

The Telegraph claim that West Brom are set to see star striker Salomon Rondon depart for a fee of £16.5million after a relegation release clause was included in his contract, which currently pays him a reported £70,000-a-week.
Spurs are said to have held interest in the 28-year-old’s signature in the past and after watching him stun top four rivals Liverpool with an equaliser in the 2-2 draw, it is clear to see he has more strings to his bow than Llorente or Janssen.
The powerhouse forward’s record of 10 goals this season, one of which came against Spurs, is not sensational but he has been turning out for a below-par West Brom team – and were he handed better support, then he could well flourish.
After all, he cannot do any worse than the current back up.
