Tottenham must avoid temptation as shock new club reportedly ramp up hunt for £60kp/w star
With Tottenham having now secured a top four spot and Champions League football, their last game of the season against Leicester City will be second on the minds of those at the north London outfit.
Instead their attentions will be firmly focused on ensuring that the club have the best possible summer transfer window, in a bid to improve their squad and push for glory on both the domestic and European stage during the next campaign.
The Lilywhites have been careful spenders, not launching themselves into the window and often leaving fans waiting until the last minute, but their patience has paid off over the years with impressive captures such as Davinson Sanchez.
However, Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy need to show the same patience when it comes to those leaving the club, and resist the temptation to rid themselves of stars as soon as possible when the money is waved in front of them.
This is especially true when it comes to Danny Rose, the England left back heavily linked with a move away this summer, with the likes of Manchester United said to be keen on snapping up the 27-year-old.

Now though, it is claimed by the Mirror that the Red Devils have dropped off the pace and that a shock move to Everton could be on the cards, the Toffees ramping up the hunt as a surprise candidate and reportedly naming Rose, who is on a reported £60,000-a-week, as their top target this summer.
However it is said that the Merseyside outfit are offering £37million for his capture, and while that is a lot to most, it is some way off the £50million mooted over the past couple of months.
As likely as it seems, Spurs do not necessarily need to get rid of Rose this summer, and they really must be waiting until the right deal comes their way before letting him go.
While £37million might be tempting, Tottenham could easily ask for £40million-plus, and it is in negotiations where they need to remain patient – otherwise, they will end up on the wrong side of a bum deal.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club must launch a shock swap swoop for a Manchester City maestro this summer.
