Tottenham reportedly fielded interest from PSG, Real Madrid, and Man United for star defender Cristian Romero over the summer.

According to journalist Gaston Edul, Spurs view Romero as integral to Ange Postecoglu's plans at the club and refused to even set a price for the 26-year-old.

Spurs will likely have to fend off similar interest in the central defender next summer with his contract due to expire in June 2027.

Tottenham fight off Cristian Romero interest

The Argentine started all 35 of his appearances across all competitions for Spurs last season, popping up with five goals as well as receiving seven yellow cards and one red.

Romero managed to put rumours about his future to one side over the summer, helping Argentina lift the 2024 Copa America title.

The defender started and finished five of his country's six games throughout the tournament, completing the full 120 minutes in the final as they beat Colombia 1-0 in extra time.

He's also played every minute of Spurs' opening three Premier League games, scoring in their 4-0 demolition of Everton.
