Tottenham open to handing first-team star new contract - report
By Danny Wright
Tottenham are open to the possibility of handing Harry Kane a new contract and are willing to go into talks, according to a report.
Reliable journalist Graeme Bailey reported on the the Gambling Times website that Spurs are eager to give Kane, 24, a new deal after his form as of late has seen claims surface that Real Madrid are looking to sign him next summer.
Spanish news outlet Don Balon has reported that Madrid are plotting a £178million swoop for the England international in 2018, which appears to have prompted Tottenham into action and offer him fresh terms.
Kane only signed a new deal 10 months ago but it is now understood that Tottenham would struggle to offer their first-team star anywhere near what Real Madrid – or any of their Premier League title rivals – could put forward.
It is also reported by the Gambling Times that Spurs are “confident” that the striker will remain with them.

Kane has been in sensational goalscoring form as of late, finding the net 11 times across all competitions for Tottenham in September, including seven in his last three outings.
Football Insider Verdict
Tottenham have been criticised for not paying their star players enough money recently, even leading to Danny Rose to open up about his concerns in a stunning interview. Daniel Levy must open the chequebook and offer Kane whatever he wants in order to make sure that Real Madrid doesn’t become a viable option for him. The striker can become a true North London legend if he keeps up this goal scoring form and can potentially lead Spurs to their first Premier League title. If Kane pens a new improved deal, it may lead to other first-team players wanting their terms improved, especially the key ones like Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.
