Tottenham player ratings v Stoke: Son, Kane awesome but two mainstays an awful 4/10

COMMENT

Tottenham moved to within one point of fourth-placed Liverpool in the Premier League table with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Stoke City at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs took the lead on 21 minutes when Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross converted Son Heung-min’s cross into his own net, after it had taken a deflection of Kurt Zouma.

Harry Kane missed a great chance to put Spurs 2-0 ahead before half-time after being put through by Son. Son then made it 2-0 after the break with a clinical finish after a fine pass by Dele Alli.

Kane then made up for his earlier miss with a powerful header from left-back Ben Davies’ cross and then drilled home a fourth to make it three goals in 12 second-half minutes as the hosts ran riot.

Son then played in Christian Eriksen who made it 5-0, before Shawcross made up for his earlier error by pulling one back for the Potters.
