Tottenham are tracking Everton defender Michael Keane ahead of a potential £50m bid for the England international, Football Insider understands.

Keane has impressed for Everton this season and his consistent performances have seen him win his place back in the England squad.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that Spurs been closely monitoring the centre-back in recent weeks, with their scouts watching him in action in Saturday’s 2-0 win at West Ham.

Everton would be reluctant to lose Keane, but Mauricio Pochettino's side could test their resolve as the line up an offer in the region of £50m for the former Manchester United youngster.

The 26-year-old impressed for Gareth Southgate’s England in their recent Euro 2020 qualifiers with Czech Republic and Montenero.

Keane has shown his best form for Everton this term after arriving from Burnley in the summer of 2017.

Tottenham could be in the market for central defensive reinforcements this summer as doubts surround the long-term future of Toby Alderweireld.

Keane would fit the bill as a potential replacement for Alderweireld as he is comfortable in possession as well as dominant in the air.
