Tottenham will reportedly look to sell midfielder Mousa Dembele on this summer for £20million and the North London club appear to be on the verge of committing a colossal blunder.
The Daily Mail claims that Juventus have joined Italian rivals Napoli and Inter Milan as interested parties in landing the powerhouse’s signature.
It is understood the 30-year-old is willing to leave Spurs after struggling with the physical demands of the Premier League and as a result the club will sanction his exit.
Dembele may not feel he has the running power anymore to last a long gruelling season in England, but allowing him to leave this summer would be a mistake.
The Belgium international is a truly world-class midfielder on his day and that is why the elite clubs in Italy are circling for his signature.
His Spurs contract may be due to expire in 2019 and he may view his future away from the club, but manager Mauricio Pochettino needs to try intervene to convince him to stay and avoid moving him on for a bargain £20million fee.
Dembele would certainly still be in the strongest starting XI at Spurs and can play a key role during the first couple of years at the stadium.
The deep-lying playmaker is so physically imposing and such a huge influence on the side, that losing him would be a mammoth blow and they would find it extremely hard finding a like-for-like replacement.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Levy is plotting a £15million swoop for a Championship playmaker.
