Sources: Joe Rodon undergoes Rennes medical as Tottenham teammate finalises big-money move
Tottenham defender Joe Rodon is undergoing a Rennes medical this weekend and his teammate Japhet Tanganga is close to joining AC Milan.
Spurs have given the green light to the two centre-backs heading out of the club to make room for the new arrivals.
The Londoners have agreed a season-long loan move for Rodon to French club Rennes that includes a buy option of £18million.
He has been given permission to head to France on Saturday to complete the move and line up for the club in the Europa League this season.
Rennes missed out on a place in next season’s Champions League by just three points after finishing fourth in the league and will instead compete alongside the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.
Tanganga is in advanced talks to join Milan on a permanent deal after dropping out of favour at Tottenham.
Spurs are keen to finalise a deal for their defender as quickly as possible with Antonio Conte keen to finalise his squad plans ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.
Tanganga has impressed fans with his versatility and pace since graduating from the club’s youth set-up into the first team.
But Conte prefers experience and battle-hardened operators in central defence and has deemed the youngster surplus to requirements.
The two clubs are discussing a permanent deal as the Italian Serie A champions attempt to further bolster their title-winning defence that features fellow Englishman, Fikayo Tomori.
Tottenham have been one of the transfer markets biggest movers this summer and have already brought in Clement Lenglet, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Djed Spence, Yves Bissouma, and Richarlison.
They kick-off their Premier League campaign at home to Southampton on Saturday, August 6.
