Tottenham set for 'big change' after source's Hotspur Way reveal today - pundit

Tottenham will be a more “physical” and “aggressive” side under Antonio Conte as new details emerge of his tactical and selection plans.

That is the view of former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 52-year-old’s first training session with his new squad.

Tottenham appointed Conte on an 18-month contract on Tuesday following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider (November 3rd), how Conte hinted in his first training session at Hotspur Way that he will implement a 3-5-2 formation for his first matches against Vitesse and Everton.

The Italian and his staff are understood to have been stressing high intensity and “energy” in their first session.

According to The Athletic, Spurs have recorded the lowest distance covered per game of any Premier League side this season.

Campbell is adamant Tottenham fans will see an immediate change in that respect under Conte.

“You mark my words, that will change,” he told Football Insider.

“There is no doubt about it. Antonio Conte’s teams have to be fit and physical.

“There will be no more holding back or being passive. Those Spurs players will have to get aggressive, that’s for sure.

“Conte has a clear idea of how he wants his teams to play. If you’re not doing the business he’ll bring someone else in.

“I think this appointment will bring a big change at Spurs.”

Speaking to club media after his appointment, Conte said: “Tottenham Hotspur has state-of-the-art facilities and one of the best stadiums in the world.

“I can’t wait to start working to convey to the team and the fans the passion, mentality and determination that have always distinguished me, as a player and as a coach.”
