‘Tottenham set for mass exodus after Ange Postecoglou sack announcement’
Tottenham have confirmed that they have sacked Ange Postecoglou, and the Australian’s departure could lead to a number of the playing squad following him out the door.
Postecoglou led Spurs to their first piece of major silverware in 17 years, as they beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final.
The 59-year-old struggled in the Premier League however, with the North London side finishing a lowly 17th in the table, with just 38 points to their name.
In the end, their dismal domestic form proved costly, and Postecoglou was dismissed by Tottenham after two years in charge.
Players could follow Postecoglou out the door
Before his departure, Postecoglou had clearly created a very positive atmosphere around the club, and the Europa League winners were a tight-knit group.
There will undoubtedly be some in the Spurs squad who are unhappy with this decision, and for those players whose futures are in doubt, it may be the final straw.
Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Cristian Romero is expected to leave Tottenham this summer, and after Postecoglou’s exit, the Argentine’s departure may have just been sealed.
Yves Bissouma is another one who could be leaving North London, and Pedro Porro publicly came out in support of his former manager, so the Spaniard will be disappointed to see him go.

The sacking of Postecoglou is just another example of Daniel Levy’s ludicrous decision-making, and puts Tottenham right back to square one.
Of course, their league form was horrific for the whole season, but the whole point of football is winning trophies, and Levy has just got rid of the only Spurs manager to do that since 2008.

Postecoglou had to contend with a whole host of injuries over the winter months, and eventually made the decision to prioritise the Europa League, which paid off in one sense, but also cost him his job.
There is no saying what that night in Bilbao might have done to this Tottenham squad; the belief and motivation it had given them could have propelled them to even greater heights.
It seems like a never-ending cycle in North London, and you can almost guarantee that the next manager who comes in will be deemed a failure and suffer the same fate as Postecoglou.
