Tottenham have join Arsenal in the race for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Spurs are now also eyeing a potential swoop for the Sweden international if Newcastle are forced to sell him this summer.

It is believed the Magpies will sell one of their biggest players this summer as they face major pressure to abide by Financial Fair Play obligations due to heavy spending in recent transfer windows.

Tottenham and Arsenal to go head-to-head for Isak amid FFP concerns

Newcastle's current stance is that they want to keep Isak at St James' Park - but Tottenham and Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring their stance and keeping an eye on the striker's situation.

Ange Postecoglou's side are admirers of the former Real Sociedad forward, but it is believed the Magpies' demands could put them off if their situation does not become desperate this summer.

Isak has notched 19 goals and one assist in 32 appearances across all competitions this season.

He has scored five goals in his last four Premier League games - including in the 1-1 draw against Everton on Tuesday (2 April).

Newcastle paid Real Sociedad a reported club-record fee of £63million to land Isak in 2021 and he has since become a proven scorer in the English top flight.

Tottenham lost Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer (2023) and are yet to replace his impact in the side despite Heung-min Son's good form in a central role.
