Harry Kane has developed into a “ridiculous” player for Tottenham who can do everything on a football pitch.
That is according to ex-Spurs midfielder Michael Brown, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Russell Edge about the England captain following his blistering start to the season.
Kane has alternated between centre-forward and a deeper number 10 role this season, and his creativity powers have reached new heights.
Brown has been blown away by the selflessness and brilliance of a player he regards as a complete all-rounder as capable of creating as scoring goals.
Kane scored his 13th Tottenham goal of the season – from just 14 matches – when he decided yesterday’s 1-0 clash at West Brom with a late goal.
He has also laid on a remarkable 10 assists this season, eight of which have come in the Premier League alone.
Brown told Football Insider: “It’s just ridiculous isn’t it? I really like now that he’s – with strikers, you talk about being selfish – Harry Kane is also now a big provider.
“I just love it when he lays one up. His ability to finish is remarkable but that he can just also choose a simple one across or (deliver) a good ball, he’s developed into a top, top, top player.
“It’s amazing, isn’t it?”
Tottenham have headed into the international break second in the Premier League on the back of an impressive run of results.
They have 17 points from eight matches, just one adrift of leaders Leicester City, who beat Wolves 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
