Tottenham table bid for £50m-valued sensation as they kick into transfer action - Times

Tottenham have lodged a £25million bid for Ryan Sessegnon but his club Fulham have placed a £50million valuation on the teenage sensation, according to a report.
The Times claim that Spurs’ sensational initial offer for the 17-year-old has been rejected by the Championship club.
It is said that Fulham are refusing to accept the departure of Sessegnon, who has graduated from the club’s productive academy to establish himself as a key first-team player.
The youngster signed a three-year contract on May 18 when he turned 17, which was the earliest opportunity he could do so.
Sessegnon made a huge impact for the first team last season and is widely regarded as one of the outstanding young players in English football.

The Times report that Manchester United and Liverpool and Arsenal are also keen on left-back Sessegnon, who has widely been compared to a young Gareth Bale thanks to his show-stopping displays on the flank in recent seasons both with Fulham and the England youth sides.
Sessegnon was also used as left midfielder as last season progressed and ended up scoring an impressive seven goals and supplying four assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.

It’s little wonder Spurs have turned their transfer guns on the Cottage. The Londoners were a whisker from signing Moussa Dembele last year – he even underwent a Tottenham medical – and now they are pushing hard to sign another rising star who has learned his trade at one of the best academies in England. Sessegnon’s twin brother Steven is also on Fulham’s books and progressing rapidly, but it is Ryan who is everyone is talking about. Named in the Championship team of the season for 2016-17, the word is he is destined for the very top. Amazingly, he has just turned 17. The player might be better served spending another year at Fulham, but it will be difficult for the club to reject too many massive offers.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are to finalise a £45million-valued signing today after terms agreed.
