Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed he expects Tottenham to appoint a new chief commercial offer "within a month".

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested the London club are likely to appoint someone with football experience.

Former chief commercial officer Todd Kline resigned from his position at Tottenham in February ahead of a move across London to rivals Chelsea.

Spurs are yet to announce a successor for Kline.

The American has been credited for bringing partnerships with the NFL and Formula 1 to Tottenham in recent years.

Tottenham to wrap up huge new hire 'within a month', says Wyness

Wyness claimed the Lilywhites "will have appointed headhunters" to ensure there is no drop-off in commercial revenue.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “There’s a merry-go-round of commercial chiefs at the moment.

“Spurs will want to try and bring people in from the outside and break the mould, but it doesn’t always work.

“Having football experience is very important in a club, you have to understand the commercial rhythm of a club to be a success.

“Certain things have to be addressed at certain times of the year, plus the black book of access to sponsors and other partners is also important.

“Spurs will have appointed headhunters and they’ll be searching.

“If a new minority investor comes in, they may want a say.

“Tottenham will want someone in place as soon as possible, it’s not an area you want to leave vacant.

“I expect we’ll see someone coming in within the next month.”
