Tottenham tipped to unveil Tomiyasu and one other signing next week after terms agreed - pundit

Frank McAvennie is predicting Tottenham will announce two new signings next week.

The former West Ham forward, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims Spurs’ transfer plans will be accellerated now the Euros are over.

On 8th July, Football Insider revealed Fabio Paratici is making progress on a deal for Takehiro Tomiyasu.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that the player has reached an agreement in principle over personal terms with the club.

But the two clubs are still to agree a price, with Spurs offering £15.5million including add-ons for Tomiyasu but Bologna are holding out for £17.2million.

It is understood the defender has told his inner circle he has his “heart set” on a move to Spurs.

McAvennie insists little business was ever going to happen during the Euros and claims Spurs fans could see two arrivals next week.

“Well there were never going to be any signings from the Euros while it was going on,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That never happens. I think next week we’ll be talking about a couple of signings.

“I hope for their sake they can announce one or two. The fans are getting restless.

“They have been waiting for a manager and got him, now the Euros are over.

“Now is the time to get it sorted. It sounds like Tomiyasu is getting closer.

“So maybe they will get him and then someone who has been at the Euros, the clock is ticking.”

Tottenham are yet to complete a first team signing this summer as their priority has been appointing a new manager.

Nuno Espirito Santo was eventually appointed after an extensive hunt as he looks to improve on Spurs poor 2020-21.
