Tottenham told to reject £30m Newcastle United offer for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg by expert

Tottenham should not sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer even if they can get double what they paid for him.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On Tuesday (26 April), The Mirror claimed Newcastle are looking to sign Hojbjerg, 26, for £30million this summer.

The report also claims the Danish midfielder could be allowed to leave N17 if an appropriate offer comes in.

Wenham doesn’t want to see Hojbjerg leave the club after only missing one Premier League game in the last two seasons.

“We have plenty of players to move on and Hojbjerg isn’t one of them,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“This is a guy who has only missed one game over the last two Premier League seasons.

“You have idiots on social media who scream for him to be out of the team but Conte, Mourinho, Nuno and Mason have always picked him when he’s available.

“It’s very simple, the managers continuously pick him after seeing him in training every day.

“I get the desire to double your money on someone but I don’t think we need to replace a guy who never misses a game.”

Hojbjerg has made 44 appearances in all competitions this season.

Tottenham are next in action against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday (8 May) as they look to stay alive in the top four race.
