Tottenham will 'bite Newcastle's hand off' after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg bid update - pundit
Alex McLeish has suggested Tottenham would “bite Newcastle’s hand off” if offered £30million for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted he has not been totally convinced by the 26-year-old since his move from Southampton.
The Express (26 April) claim Newcastle are lining up a £30million bid for Hojbjerg as Eddie Howe looks for new midfield additions.
The Denmark international joined Spurs for a reported £15million from Southampton in 2020 and is contracted until 2025.
As revealed by Football Insider in February, Tottenham valued Hojbjerg at around £25million amid interest from former manager Jose Mourinho at Roma.
With possible double-your-money deal on the cards, McLeish suggested Tottenham would be thrilled to cash in on the midfielder.

“I think they’ll bite their hand off,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“Hojbjerg has got a good pedigree.
“However, I felt at Spurs, sometimes when they were going through bad results, he wasn’t at that very top level.
“There’s a place for everybody somewhere.”
Hojbjerg has been a mainstay under all three permanent managers he has had during his time at Spurs.
He has made 96 appearances across all competitions, with five goals and nine assists under his belt.
The Danish star has missed just three games from a possible 31 since Antonio Conte took charge.
Hojberg has played the full 90 minutes in Spurs’ last 11 Premier League games.
He has been partnered with the likes of Oliver Skipp and January signing Rodrigo Bentancur in the middle of the park.
