Tottenham must consider world-class Sterling offer amid 'ridiculous money' reveal - pundit
Raheem Sterling can be one of the “best in the world” and Tottenham must consider signing him as part of a Harry Kane player-plus-cash deal.
That is according to ex-Premier League shot-stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Fabrizio Romano reported on 21st June that Man City had submitted a £100million bid for Kane.
The reputable transfer journalist also claimed that Sterling was one of the names tabled as a potential makeweight in the deal.
Kane has three years left to run on his Spurs deal while Sterling’s contract expires in 2023.
Football Insider exclusively revealed in April that the England skipper has made it clear to friends that he wants to quit Spurs this summer.
Kenny insists it is foolish to stand in his way and that Sterling is a first-rate sweetener for the deal.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “There’s no reason why Sterling can’t be one of the best in the world again.
“He’s been in and out of the Man City team and there’s nothing worse than not playing consistently.
“He was on fire at one stage and I’m sure he can get it back again.
“I think with Kane asking for a move, anything around the £100m mark is ridiculous money.
“I’d be surprised if it goes higher than £100m with the players involved too, especially in this market.
“Surely it’s something Tottenham can’t keep pushing and risking putting Man City off.
“At the end of the day, he’s a player who doesn’t want to be there anymore. He wants to go and win trophies and you can’t fault him.
“They haven’t even got a manager. It’s not like they can turn around to Kane and say: ‘Look, we’ve got this manager and this is the plan for the future’.”
