Sky transfer expert states Everton to make serious push for prolific striker to replace Lukaku

By Harry Sykes

Everton are planning to make a “serious push” to sign Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez, according to a reliable journalist.

Sky Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on his personal website that the Merseysiders are eyeing the prolific front man, 21, as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

Di Marzio states that the signals are that Everton are keen to activate the £5.1million release clause in the Malaga contract of Ramirez.

The report comes after Everton manager Ronald Koeman was pictured in Spain with Ramirez’s agent Gines Carvajal as well as at La Rosaleda Stadium on Sunday afternoon watching Malaga beat Celta Vigo 3-0 alongside the Toffees’ director of football Steve Walsh.

Javier Ontiveros and Recio put their side 2-0 up, before former Barcelona forward Ramirez added a third in injury time.

Sandro has made a big impact at La Liga outfit Malaga since leaving the Nou Camp, netting 16 goals in 29 league and cup games in addition to four assists.

He has struck 14 times in the Spanish league and demonstrated the pedigree that has led to three Spain Under-21 caps.

Everton are likely to be in the market for a number of strikers in the summer window.

Premier League top scorer Lukaku has rejected a new contract amid intense speculation he is quitting, while Arouna Kone and Enner Valencia are out of contract at the end of season and Gerard Deulofeu could head back to Spain.

In other Everton transfer news, the club have agreed to sign up a centre-forward who is loved by Ronald Koeman.
