Agbonlahor can't believe Arsenal could seal sensational Kylian Mbappe deal - 'we'll give you £1m-a-week'
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Arsenal have no chance of signing wantaway Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe despite media links with the superstar.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Gunners will find it almost impossible to beat Real Madrid to the signature of the World Cup winner - with the Spanish giants able to offer him "£1million-a-week" in wages.
Football Insider revealed last month (13 June) that PSG will offer Mbappe a new deal and if he chooses not to sign he is likely to be sold this summer.
According to The Independent (7 July), Mbappe would prefer to join Arsenal if he is to move to the Premier League.
However, it is claimed there has been no contact between the two clubs and the 24-year-old is seen to be way beyond Arsenal’s budget.
Mbappe’s current contract at Paris Saint-Germain runs until 2024 and includes the player option of a 12-month extension.
With a potential summer move on the cards, Agbonlahor has insisted Arsenal do not have a chance to sign the Frenchman.
“Not even Thierry Henry could help get that one over the line,” he told Football Insider.
“I feel that Mbappe is the player that has got his heart and soul set on Real Madrid.”
“He will look at it and think I can have a good 10 years at Real Madrid and score two or three hundred goals.
“That’s the club he's got his mind set on. Real Madrid may have even said to him: 'See your contract out, get down to a free transfer and we can give you a million pounds a week'.
“That would also allow Real Madrid to give him £50million or £60million to sign with the club.
“I think Real Madrid is his only destination. I can picture him doing 10 years in Spain, then possibly moving to the middle east.”
