Fenerbahce have tabled an offer to sign Liverpool playmaker Luis Alberto on loan, according to a report.

Turkish publication Fotospor claim that Superliga giants Fenerbahce have moved to the head of the queue to sign Alberto with their loan bid.

The Spanish attacking midfielder is not seen in Jurgen Klopp's plans for the season, with Liverpool keen to ship him off before the transfer window shuts next week.

Alberto signed for Liverpool in 2013 for £6.8million from Sevilla but has failed to make an impact on Merseyside.

The Sevilla graduate made just nine appearances on his debut season in Merseyside, followed by a loan move to Malaga, where he scored two goals in 15 appearances.

He faired considerably better in his last campaign, where he was loaned out to Deportivo La Coruna, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 29 appearances for the Spanish club.

But despite retuning to the Reds for pre-season, he has failed to make an impact under Klopp and it looks like his imminent future consists of a loan move to Turkey.

Fenerbahce are now managed by former Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat, who, according to Fotospor, has made the signing of Alberto a priority.
