Carlo Ancelotti is ready for Everton to listen to offers for Gylfi Sigurdsson as he looks to boost his transfer kitty with some big name sales, Football Insider can reveal.

The Iceland international, 30, has struggled to live up to the £45million fee the club paid to prise him from Swansea City in the summer of 2017.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Ancelotti has made up his mind that the playmaker can go if the club can recoup a significant portion of what they paid three years ago.

Sigurdsson has started all four of Ancelotti's matches in charge, including yesterday's 1-0 FA Cup defeat to what was virtually Liverpool's reserve team.

He was used in central midfield alongside Morgan Schneiderlin at Anfield but struggled to exert any influence against a youthful and vibrant line-up

The source explained after the latest wretched display from Sigurdsson that Ancelotti is keen to cash in on him to raise transfer funds.

That is more likely to be in the summer rather than in the current window, even though Everton are in the market for new blood this month.

The Icelandic playmaker has been a mainstay of the team since signing from Swansea and has now played 97 times for the Toffees.

He has been a regular goalscorer and creator, netting 22 times and supplying 13 assists but he has not been as influential at Goodison as he was at Swansea.

Sigurdsson scored 37 goals and supplied 30 assists in 131 matches for the Welsh side.
