Aston Villa prepare to lose Morgan Rogers as Tottenham accelerate deal
Aston Villa are preparing for the unpalatable scenario of losing Morgan Rogers in exchange for a late signing spree, sources have told Football Insider.
The Midlands giants have been plagued with Profit and Sustainability Rules issues for a number of years now, which has inhibited their transfer market activity.
Villa have already completed the sale of Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle United this summer, in an attempt to balance the books.
However, Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Tottenham are accelerating a move for Rogers, and are hoping to agree a cut-price deal due to the Villains' financial problems.

Villa have had an extremely quiet transfer window so far, making just two notable signings, Evann Guessand from Nice and Marco Bizot from Brest.
That has left their squad lacking in key areas as deadline day draws closer, and serious improvements are required to give them a chance of fighting for a Champions League place.
Unai Emery's side are playing in the Europa League this season, so they will need increased depth to be able to manage the extra workload.
In order to be able to spend, it is likely that Villa will have to bring in funds first, which could lead to the sale of Rogers.

Meanwhile, Man United are reportedly set to miss out on a deal to sign long-term target Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa.
That is according to their former chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that Ruben Amorim’s side have cooled their interest in the 32-year-old.
As a result, he is growing increasingly likely to stay at Villa Park beyond the end of the transfer window and remains part of Emery’s plans.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa, and West Ham, insisted United have made a “huge mistake” by not pushing for a deal.
