Slaven Bilic has been left sweating over the fitness of attacking midfielder Edimilson Fernandes ahead of West Ham's clash with Huddersfield next Monday, according to a report.

Football.London claims that Fernandes, 21, has been sent for a scan on a suspected sprained ankle and is likely to be set for a spell on the sidelines as a result.

The report claims that the West Ham squad is now at "breaking point" with this latest injury blow adding to Bilic's concerns after what has been a horrific start to the Premier League season.

Swiss attacker Fernandes has featured in all three league fixtures so far this term where the Hammers have been beaten on every occasions, conceding 10 goals in the process.

It is understood that Andre Ayew and Manuel Lanzini are among other major attacking midfield doubts for West Ham's first match at the London Stadium this season against a newly promoted Huddersfield that are in fine form.

Andy Carroll is also likely to miss the Terriers clash while Marko Arnautovic will definitely be ruled out as he serves the final game of his three-match suspension.
