Birmingham City make decision on permanent Gary Rowett deal - sources
Birmingham City interim manager Gary Rowett will leave the club after the last match of the season, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the Blues board have made the decision that the 50-year-old will not get the job permanently, as results have not been good enough and chiefs have not been impressed.
Rowett, who previously managed the Blues from October 2014 to December 2016, was appointed interim boss on 19 March until the end of the season.
There had been an expectation from the hierarchy that Rowett could make a strong case to land the job permanently, but that is not expected to now happen.
His appointment came after Tony Mowbray took a formal medical leave of absence until the start of pre-season 2024/25.

Rowett, who also played for the Midlands club during his career on the pitch, was placed in charge for the final eight games of the Championship season.
The Blues are currently in a relegation fight in the second division, sitting in 22nd place with just one match left to play, a home tie with Norwich City on Saturday (4 May).
Rowett’s side have 47 points, with Huddersfield Town one place behind them on 45, and Plymouth Argyle one place above them on 48.
Birmingham do, however, boast the best form of those three clubs, with a win and two draws in their last three matches.
Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday are also not safe from the drop, with both clubs on 50 points.
Rotherham United meanwhile have already been relegated to League One, leaving just two spots left ahead of the final matchday.
