Brentford has endured a tough summer since Thomas Frank joined Tottenham with high-profile interest in Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa.

New Bees boss Keith Andrews is keen to guide the West London side to another successful Premier League season, but Manchester United are closing in on Mbeumo.

Meanwhile, former Everton and Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that he thinks Wissa will follow Frank to Tottenham.

The forwards scored a combined total of 39 goals in the Premier League last season, epitomising their importance at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Brentford left concerned as Wissa and Mbeumo close in on exits

Frank was not alone in leaving the Bees for a North London club, as former Brentford captain Christian Norgaard joined Arsenal.

Meanwhile, discussing Wissa's increasingly likely move to Tottenham live on talkSPORT's 'transfer Tinder' [18 July], Ray Parlour said: "Obviously Thomas Frank knows him very well. He knows what sort of character he is for the dressing room, which is very important.

"I think he’s a good player, I really do. Brentford will be a bit concerned. Because they lose Mbeumo to Man United, and they lose Wissa as well.

"Norgaard, their skipper, they’ve lost. Brentford will be a little bit worried about losing him, but I think he (Wissa) would be a good signing for Spurs. I’ll go right (say yes)."

Wissa will be a strong addition for Tottenham

Football Insider verdict

After enjoying four consecutive seasons as a solid Premier League outfit, including two top-half finishes, Brentford now appear destined for a relegation battle.

Wissa will be a strong addition for Spurs

The Bees have effectively coped with the high-profile departures of players like Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney in the past, but losing Frank, Norgaard, Mbeumo, and Wissa in the same summer should prove one step too far for the West Londoners.

Serious question marks also remain over whether former set-piece coach Andrews can effectively adjust to the demands of being a Premier League manager.

Contrastingly, Tottenham should be able to enjoy a significantly better top-flight season under Frank than the one they endured under Ange Postecoglou last season.

Frank must utilise the summer transfer window to compile a squad that can balance Champions League duties alongside their Premier League responsibilities.

The addition of Wissa can help them do just that, as the prolific winger should reap the rewards of playing alongside the likes of James Maddison.
