Alan Hutton has insisted there is "something in the pipeline" with Celtic right-back Josip Juranovic.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender suggested the Hoops will try to double their money if they sell Juranovic.

The Croatia international's contract runs until 2026 but Parkhead bosses have attempted to tie him down to a longer deal.

The defender is keen to listen to offers from elite clubs and the Green and Whites are willing to sell if their asking price is met.

According to the Daily Record (28 November), the Hoops are confident of securing a deal for Canadian right-back Alistair Johnston that could be worth up to £3million.

Juranovic joined the Glasgow club in August 2021 in a deal worth £2.5m.

When asked if the Hoops will be looking to double their money on the star defender, Hutton told Football Insider: "If they can.

"It is like anything, they are looking for the biggest amount of money possible.

"Something must be in the pipeline. To go and get another right-back, they have got Tony Ralston there as well. That is three, you do not need three right-backs. He is obviously covering all bases this year.

"Something could be happening in January or in the summer. You always want an upgrade. I think he has come in, shown his worth and played at a high level.

"He is at the World Cup, he has done well in the European games so of course they will want to make a profit. At this moment in time he is the number one right-back for Celtic so if they are going to sell him they will need to make it worth their while."
