Celtic are braced for bids in January for wonderkid playmaker Karamoko Dembele, according to a report.

The Scottish Sun claim Chelsea and Manchester City are among the elite clubs preparing to make offers for the 13-year-old sensation when the window opens.

It is said that Ajax are also closely pursuing the attacking midfielder, who plays predominantly in an attacking midfield role cutting in from the right flank on to his left foot.

Dembele has become one of the most sought-after teenagers in Britain after making waves with his performances with the Celtic age-group teams.

The youngster, who joined the Celtic academy at the age of 10, became an overnight sensation after being selected for the Scottish giants' Under-20s side, a full seven age groups above his own.

Dembele has also instigated a battle between England and Scotland for his services, prompting the Scottish FA to fast-track him into two Under-16s matches in October to entice him to staying with the Tartan Army.

The reported interest of clubs with the resources of Chelsea and City might be of concern to Celtic chiefs.

The big-hitting Premier League duo are renowned for their aggressive approaches to snapping up the best youth talent in Britain and across the globe.
