Rangers are monitoring  FCSB‘s Darius Olaru as the club aims to add some goals to the midfield, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Romanian club would demand a “decent fee” if they were to consider a sale.

The 26-year-old has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 21 appearances this season in all competitions, which has brought plenty of attention to him.

However, Rangers are not in any position to be paying big money for any signings after the club's financial results were made public.

Rangers might struggle to fund a move for Darius Olaru

A goalscoring midfielder is something that the Gers are currently missing in the squad, which is why Olaru is a target heading into the January transfer window.

However, the Romania international is under contract until 2028, which puts FCSB in a strong negotiating position.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that ready-made funds aren’t available to Philippe Clement at the moment to try and buy his way out of trouble and improve the squad.

Rangers

The Rangers boss is currently under increasing pressure at Ibrox due to an underwhelming start to the season.
