Mathieu Debuchy has joined Bordeaux on loan for the rest of the season, Arsenal announced on Monday night.

The France international has been granted a move back to his homeland after the Gunners failed to agree loan terms with Aston Villa.

Debuchy has pushed hard for a move away from Arsenal after losing his starting place to Hector Bellerin and there is a strong possibility that he has now played his last match for Arsene Wenger's team.

Arsenal are also hoping to send Serge Gnabry on loan before the window shuts, with Wenger claiming on Monday morning that the winger will join one of two Championship clubs amid interest from Brighton, Fulham and Charlton.

The latest Arsenal transfer news is that the Gunners have failed to land emerging England star Ryan Sessegnon after Fulham rejected a bid for the youngster to move in part-exchange for Gnabry.
