Tottenham have agreed a deal for striker Ryan Loft to spend the rest of the season on loan at Stevenage, it was announced on Saturday afternoon.

Loft, 19, became the latest young Spurs player to leave the club on a temporary deal as he made the short journey to the Hertfordshire club.

Spurs revealed on their official Twitter account on Saturday that Loft will spend the remainder of the season at the League Two outfit and continue to develop his game.

The deal, which was simultaneously announced on the official Stevenage Twitter account, becomes the third agreed by Spurs in the mid-season window.

They have already announced that young goalkeeper Luke McGee, 21, has extended his loan with League One club Peterborough for the remainder of the season and that striker Will Miller, 20, will remain with Championship outfit Burton for the rest of the 2016/17 campaign.

Loft arrived at Stevenage in time to be included on the substitute's bench for their League Two clash against Newport County on Saturday afternoon.

Loft has progressed through the youth-team ranks at White Hart Lane and impressed predominantly as a striker but also on the right of the attack.

The teenager, who has yet to make a first-team appearance for Spurs, scored 14 goals in 22 games for the club's Under-18s last season and has followed that up with one goal in seven matches in Premier League 2 this season.

He also spent time at National League side Braintree Town last season, where he was an unused substitute twice.

This is a no-brainer. At the age of 19, there is no point Loft kicking his heels at White Hart Lane, or playing for the development squad against kids. The teenager is better served playing regular football and learning his trade against senior professionals. The versatile forward needs game time to maximise his potential and the English lower leagues present the ideal apprenticeship. Loft and Tottenham academy chiefs have made the correct decision for him to go out on loan for the rest of the season.
