Vincent Janssen has completed his move from AZ Alkmaar to Tottenham, it was confirmed on Tuesday morning.

Spurs announced on their official website that the versatile striker has signed a four-year contract to become the club's second signing of the summer.

Janssen completed a medical on Monday and agreed the terms of an £18.8million transfer from AZ after flying to London on Sunday with his advisors Patrick van Diemen and Louis Laros.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino was adamant that the deal was completed in time for Janssen to get acquainted with his methods a month ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign.

The forward will join the club on their pre-season tour of Australia, where they are scheduled to play matches in Melbourne against Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

Spurs have agreed to meet AZ's £18.8m asking price, which has smashed the Dutch outfit's transfer record.

Janssen will cost half of Batshuayi but was the top scorer in the Dutch League this season with a virtual goal-a-game haul of 27 goals in 34 games. In all competitions, he struck 32 times in 49 matches.

Pochettino has taken his summer spending beyond the £30million mark after signing midfield enforcer Victor Wanyama from Southampton for around £12million last month.
