Everton board fractured over offer for experienced manager, Wednesday meeting scheduled - report

The Everton board are due to hold a meeting on Wednesday with chiefs split over whether or not to make an offer to Sam Allardyce to be their next manager, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claims that a fracture has emerged in the boardroom as Allardyce, 63, is not favoured by everyone, with a number of managers wanted to replace Ronald Koeman, who was sacked over two weeks ago.
Allardyce has his supporters in the Toffees hierarchy, who are said to see how his experience in the game can help them out of the current situation they find themselves in.
However the Daily Mail claims that the former Crystal Palace and England boss will not be happy with Farhad Moshiri's desire to bring Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone to Goodison Park.
As well as Allardyce; Burnley’s Sean Dyche and Watford’s Marco Silva are understood to be on the Everton shortlist while caretaker manager David Unsworth is still up for consideration for the permanent role after Sunday's win against the Hornets.

Allardyce is a short-term fix and is not a manager that Everton would want in the long-term. There was a clear project underway with Koeman at the helm but after failing to show any patience with him and his underperforming summer signings, they have thrown that all out of the window. In reality, there's no ideal solution. Dyche and Silva both seem happy with their current jobs while the Simeone interest must be from a dream. Allardyce is out of work and would be the easiest to hire, but he will not be the boss to get them back up to challenge the top six. Slaven Bilic is available and is potentially someone that the Toffees should look at.
